भारतीय कानून के अनुसार, अलग -अलग एक्ट्स में कई सारे प्रोविजन्स हैं। इनमे कई सारे रेप के लिए भी है। रेप शब्द को भारतीय दंड संहिता 1860 के सेक्शन 375(1) के तहत कानूनी रूप से परिभाषित किया गया है।  इस कानून के प्रोविजन्स के तहत रेप की परिभाषा और उसके लिए सजा दोनों के बारे में विशेष रूप से बताया गया हैं। इस सेक्शन में कहा गया है कि जब कोई व्यक्ति किसी महिला की सहमति के बिना उसके निजी अंगों या ऐसी किसी वस्तु में प्रवेश करता है या उसके साथ संभोग करता है, तो ऐसा कृत्य रेप  की श्रेणी में आता है। रेप को भी कुछ श्रेणियों में वर्गीकृत किया गया है जैसे सेक्शन  376 (2) हिरासत में रेप , सेक्शन  376 (ए) वैवाहिक रेप , सेक्शन , सेक्शन  376 (बी से डी) यौन संभोग जो रेप  की श्रेणी में नहीं आता है। भारतीय दंड संहिता, 1860 की सेक्शन  228 (ए) के तहत प्रावधान कहता है कि रेप  पीड़िता के नाम का खुलासा किसी भी व्यक्ति द्वारा नहीं किया जा सकता है, जिस व्यक्ति ने नाम का खुलासा किया है उसे दो साल के कारावास की सजा दी जाएगी और जुर्माना भी लगाया जाएगा। दंड प्रक्रिया संहिता की से...
